Uganda Wildlife Gorilla& Chimpanzee Safari

Day 1.  Arrival at Entebbe

Upon arrival at Entebbe. You will be met byour local representative African Paradise Safaris Representative.  Transfer to your city hotel for overnight LakeShore at Kampala Serena Hotel    B&B.

Day 2 . Entebbe-Lake Mburo

Enjoy morning breakfastat around 08.30 you will be picked up by our professionally trained guides from your Hotel after Breakfast. Drive South towards Mburo National Park. A stopover at the Equator is a must for some informative talk and photographic opportunity.  Proceed further south with most of the countryside green and some stopovers in the markets for fresh fruits enroute.  Drive in the park heading to the lodge for lunch. After lunch depart for an afternoon game drive.Fabulous views of Buffaloes, Zebras, Leopards, a variety of antelopes, warthogs, and one of the few places to view zebras in Uganda.Dinner and overnight at Mihingo Lodge FB.

Day 3. Lake Mburo

Full day exploration of the park.  After an early morning Breakfast, transfer to RwonyoPark headquarters for a briefing and then proceed for a nature walk in the Park. Expect to see, Impalas, Zebras, Elands only to mention but a few. After a thrilling walk, retire to the Lodge ready for Lunch. After Lunch drive to the Lake ready for a boat trip. Here expect to see species of birds, Hippos and other species of animals. The calmness of the lake with animals coming to drink water is another memorable experience. The park is renowned for zebras, impalas, buffaloes, hippos, topi and elands including the rare shoebill, crested crane, pelicans, fish eagle, heron and many water birds. Afternoon boat cruise amidst the Hippos is amazing. Dinner and overnight at Mihingo Lodge FB.

Day 4. Lake Mburo – Bwindi National Park

Start an early guided nature walk taking you to the Salt Lick Area, a well-located wood stage that offers an opportunity to see at least four different species of animals at any one point while they lick the salty soil. Go back to the lodge for breakfast, after which you will head off for Kabale, where we will stop for lunch. Continue on your journey, which offers excellent views including the triangular peaks of the Virunga volcanoes of Rwanda and the Congo. The road then drops down into a valley, to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, habitat to the mountain gorillas. Have an evening game drive.Dinner and overnight at Bwindi Lodge FB.

Day 5. Bwindi National Park – Queen Elizabeth National Park

After a morning breakfast depart early with our packed lunch for Queen Elizabeth National Park. We will drive through the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth known as Ishasha, famed for its tree-climbing lions. Ishasha is a remote and beautiful extension of QueenElizabethNational Park. We will see buffalo, topi and hippo among other species. It is a fabulous sight to see the lions draped from the trees and nowhere in Africa do you stand a better chance of seeing this than in the large low-limbed fig tree of Ishasha.Dinner and overnight at Engazi Lodge FB.

Day 6. Wildlife Tour in Queen Elizabeth National Park, Sth Western Uganda

Rise very early with your packed lunch for a morning game drive to catch-up with the early risers and predators returning to their hideouts. Visit Ishasha sector where you will take on yet another game drive in search of tree climbing
 You will most likely meet grazing Hippos, Elephants, and Lions, spotted Hyenas, bush buck, water buck, stripped jackal, comical warthogs and the elusive leopard. Proceed to Maramagambo forest. Many surprises await you here for example pythons are often observed in the crevices of the bat cave floor using the bats as a source of food. The cave is near a picturesque formerly Blue Lake and Hunters Cave. You may also see forest birds such as bat hawks, brown eared woodpecker and other primates.Return for Dinner and overnight at Engazi Lodge FB.

Day 7 . Wildlife Tour in Queen Elizabeth National Park, Sth Western Uganda

After Breakfast, have an early morning game drive and spot Elephants, waterbucks, warthogs, hippos and others. We will return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon a boat trip along the Kazinga Channel gives you the opportunity to view wildlife up close: hippo’s huff and spray mere feet away from the boat, buffalo linger in the shallows. The shores of the channel are also home to an array of birds including pink backed pelicans, pied and malachite kingfishers, saddle billed stork and many others. After this wonderful afternoon, a slow drive back to Lodge.Dinner and overnight at Engazi Lodge FB.

Day 8. Q.E - Kibale Chimpanzee Forest

Following breakfast, we will depart to Kibale Forest National Park. We will leave the park via the Northern Crater Area, with beautiful lake and rich grasslands which are set deep in the crater valley; this is truly the most breathtaking scenery in the park arriving at the park late afternoon. We have a chance of birding on the main road or one of the trails in the forest. – nocturnal game walk.Dinner and overnight at Kibale Forest Camp Cottages FB.

Day 9 (Mon 7 July 2014). Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest

A relatively early morning start to report to the ranger station in Kibale National Park at 08.00am to track habituated chimps – these delightful apes, more closely related to humans than to any other living creature, are tremendous fun to watch as they squabble and play in fruiting trees. The incredibly diverse forest is home to over 13 species of primates including red Colobus monkey, the rare L’Hoest, blue monkey, grey mangabey, pottos, black faced vervet monkeys, baboons and also bush babies. A network of shady forest trails provides much to delight botanists and butterfly lovers, while birders are in for a treat with 335 species recorded including the endemic Prirogrine’s ground thrush. The elusive forest elephant, smaller and hairier that its savannah counterpart, moves seasonally into the developed part of the park, while other terrestrial mammals include buffalo, giant forest hog and a half dozen antelope species.

If you have energy in the afternoon, you will go for a guided walk in BigodiSwamp to look for different bird species like the Shining Blue Kingfisher, Blue Throated Roller and other rare species and also find the fruiting trees, which attract Narina Trogon, Pied Hornbill, Yellow Spotted, Hairy Breasted and Yellow-Billed Barbets. Dinner and overnight at Kibale Forest Camp Cottages FB.

Day 10 Kibale Forest – Murchison Falls

Morning game drive at Kibale forest. Proceed to MurchisonFalls with a stopover at KaniyoPabidi for primate tracking. Drive to the top of the falls for magnificent scenery, breathtaking sight of the raging Nile as it forces its way through a rocky gap where millions of gallons of water squeeze in 7 meter gap before it falls (45 meters) in thunderous sound forming a placid river. Evening game drive at the park.Dinner and overnight at Murchison River Lodge- FB.

Day 11.  Murchison Fall

Start the day with an early morning game drive looking for wildlife on the Buligi, Albert or Queens tracks north of the river Nile. You are able to view those animals that are unique to the African Savannah like lion, leopard, giraffe, antelope, elephant, and many warthogs.
After lunch, you will go for a launch cruise on the Nile River. The cruise takes you to the bottom of the thundering falls where you will see huge crocodiles, schools of hippos, buffaloes, elephants and a variety of water birds like herons, cormorants, ducks, bee-eaters, kingfishers, skimmers, fish eagle and the rare shoebill if chanced.Nile to the base of the falls,?? and this is magnificent spectacle. From here, the mighty river Nile explodes through a narrow gorge and flows down to a placid river whose banks are thronged with hippos, Crocodiles, Water bucks and buffaloes. If lucky you may catch the sight of the rare shoe bill. Dinner and overnight at Murchison River Lodge -FB.

Day 12.  Murchison Fall- Jinja

It is in Jinja where you stumble on the source of the River Nile, the longest river in Africa.  On your wayto Jinja there are quite exciting things to check out. Stopover at Mabira forest where you will encounter diurnal primates like red-tailedmonkey, the forest  has 300 tree species?? and a big bird community of over 300 species of which you can spot some birds like Nahan’s francolin.   Red-tailed monkeys and the elusive black and white colobus are also common.  After proceed to our main destination Jinja.  Jinja is located at northern end and east bank of Lake Victoria. Everything in Jinja is connected to the river such as electricity production, brewing and the shops on the main street. Finally we get to water rafting, the best activity. Shooting the rapids is described as an ‘adrenaline-pumping experience’ and not for the faint hearted; its tremendous fun but for the physically demanding.Dinner and overnight at Surjio’s Guest House -HB.

Day 13.  Jinja - Kampala

Take a cup of coffee at leisure and return to Kampala bringing us to the end of this adventurous trip!With lunch at Cassia lodge. After lunch the guide will lead you to a Kampala City tour.  After the tour have your dinner at Cassia lodge at leisure. Then proceed to the hotel for your overnight at Kampala Serena Hotel- HB.

Day 14 (Sat 12 July 2014).  Departure day from Uganda

Early morning breakfast at your Hotel then a transfer to the Airport for your home flight. End of  Uganda Wildlife and Gorilla Safari.
